Circuits, Cardboard & Creativity: A STEAM-Powered Summer
At BB2C, we break down barriers between traditional classroom learning and hands-on exploration. Our camps provide students with a platform to see firsthand how STEAM subjects converge in exciting ways, paving the way for future careers in these ever-evolving fields. We can’t wait to build more bridges, inspire more innovation, and empower the next generation of creators and problem solvers!

Teachers Step into Industry to Reimagine the Classroom
This June, five educators from four schools - Washington Elementary School, Veritas Classical Academy, Warren Middle School, and Marietta High School - stepped out of their classrooms and into the heart of local industry through BB2C’s Summer 2025 Teacher Tours. This hands-on professional development experience gave teachers a rare opportunity to explore the workplaces shaping the future of Southeastern Ohio.

BB2C Sparks Creativity and Career Exploration at ETS Camp
Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C) partnered with Washington State College of Ohio’s Educational Talent Search (ETS) Camp for an exciting day of hands-on learning, creativity, and career exploration. Expanding Student Career Awareness through the Career Speakers Series
As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 school year, BB2C invites professionals from in and around Washington County to get involved. Whether you want to share your story once or across several classrooms or school districts, your story matters and can help inspire students with their future career pathways.

Exploring Mental Health Careers: Dayne Miller’s Internship Journey
As a junior at Fort Frye High School, Dayne Miller took a big step toward his future with two powerful internship experiences through the Appalachian Children Coalition (ACC) this past school year. With a growing passion for mental health and helping others, Dayne completed both a 40-hour exploratory internship through BB2C as well as a 120-hour deep-dive internship directly through ACC working closely with Hopewell Health Centers staff at his school.

OHIO Rural Teacher Fellowship: Empowering Educators in Appalachian Ohio
Fellowship applications are now open for the 2025-2026 academic year. Eligible applicants are current PK-12 educators in Appalachian Ohio or Fairfield County with a passion for Community and Career Connected Learning. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with a final deadline of July 11, 2025.

Turning Curiosity into a Career in Engineering
Claire is heading to Ohio University this fall to study Mechanical Engineering. She earned a $500 Masonic Lodge scholarship and will be working with the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturer’s Coalition this summer through another paid internship, completing 120 hours and earning $15 an hour. Her goal through her second internship is to become certified in SolidWorks and continue developing skills that will help her with engineering.
