The challenges we face in southeast Ohio are significant and the competition we face is strong, but through a focused and collaborative effort, I believe we can improve the conditions we are experiencing today.

That is where the partnership is essential – the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

As we consider our children’s education and think about their future, we must also consider how we’re preparing them for the technology-driven world of work.

In my case, the Epicenter incubator provided a place to pause and consider several options.

Their energy transfers into our desire to become involved in an area we believe we are experts in.

The connection this opportunity made between business owners and teachers gave insight to both groups.

Of the 26 students who completed our survey, 21 would like to have a mentor again next year.

I believe we are providing our global readership with a glimpse of the passion, energy, and hope being brought to bear in Appalachian Ohio.

The program connects the students to the community and hopefully assists in creating active citizens of our future! 

An internship can look like whatever it needs to look like.

Passing on some experience to other people has always been satisfying.

I would encourage anyone who loves their work to stop by and ask how to engage with these young adults.

It started with Legos and Erector sets as a child.

I think this is a beneficial day for any student who may not think there are options for them in the workforce.
